Himachal electricity board introduces online billing

Shri Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister, today launched the online payment facility, to begin with, for 37,000 consumers of Ridge, Sanjauli, Boileauganj, Chhota Shimla and Idgah City Electrical Sub Divisions, of Shimla town by clicking the mouse of the computer. He registered himself on the website address http://www.hpseb.com/mybill/ and paid his electricity bill by opening his account on the site. 

Soon service would be replicated for entire state of Himachal Pradesh. Total 37,000 consumers to be benefited by the facility

Shri Virbhadra Singh said that the modern technology had revolutionized the world and had turned the world into a global village as instant information about any event taking place in any part of the world was available on internet at once at the click of mouse. He said that adoption of the information technology in disposing off the official assignments had helped immensely in speeding up of the paper work and reduced the correspondence practice considerably. He said that computerization of the entire government departments was at an advanced stage and would be beneficial to get any problem solved without wasting any time.

Chief Minister directed the Board authorities to expand the network of facilities to the consumers at the lowest level by simplifying the payment collection procedure so that they could find themselves at convenience to pay their bills instantly by avoiding the prevalent payment procedure.
