Inter-state police meet held in Delhi

New Delhi, April 17 (IANS) An inter-state coordination meeting was held here Wednesday to address various issues related to strengthening of policing in the national capital, a police officer said.

“The objective of the meeting was to share terror related intelligence and inputs about various extremist outfits and their designs,” an officer said.

The meeting, at the Delhi Police Headquarters in central Delhi, was attended by Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar and senior officers from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan.

The Delhi Police commissioner stressed on increasing police presence, intensive and coordinated checking at vulnerable points in Delhi and adjacent areas, according to the officer.

Surveillance over inter-state criminals involved in heinous offences, repeat offenders and gangs was also emphasised.

The officers of various state police shared lists of their most wanted criminals and other related information about their respective areas.

It was decided to take concerted action against active inter-state criminals for curbing crime in the national capital region (NCR), the officer said.
