New Delhi, April 4 (IANS) A police sub-inspector deposing as a witness in the Delhi gang-rape case in court Thursday said that a woman doctor, examining the victim, had told him that she had “never seen such injuries on any girl in her career”.

The sub-inspector, who was on emergency night duty at Vasant Vihar police station on the night of the incident, the spot where the victim and her male friend were lying naked and brutally injured, was cross-examined by accused Mukesh’s counsel in the fast-track court of Additional Session Judge Yogesh Khanna.

“Doctor informed me that during her career of 20 years she had not seen such type of injuries on any girl,” he said during cross-examination.

The policeman deposed deposing as a prosecution witness and said: “Doctors had informed me that the victim girl was in bad shape.”

The witness said that after receiving a phone call in police station about the incident he rushed to the spot and when he reached he found that the victims had already been taken to hospital by a police van.

The sub-inspector said that he then went to Safdarjang Hospital where he met the complainant (victim’s male friend) who “disclosed his name and said he was coming from Saket mall with his friend, but after that doctor asked me not to ask any further question as he was under treatment”.

The witness added that after meeting the complainant he went to meet the victim in the gynae department but doctors did not allow him to enter the building.

“A senior woman inspector came and went to see the victim and when she came back with a doctor, she (doctor) said that in her 20 years of career she had never seen such types of injuries on any girl,” the witness said during the cross-examination.
