Manali: The meeting of Winter Carnival Organizing Committee was convened here on Thursday at Manali presided over by the Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman Winter Carnival Organizing Committee S.C. Negi.
Negi at the meeting took stock of the preparation being made by various sub- committees. Various committees have been formed to make the event organization smooth and better. Representatives of the finance, cultural, Tableau, Public-city and catering sub-committees were present at the meeting.
Zila Parishad Chairman Hari Chand Sharma and representatives of different Govt. and non Govt. organizations also attend the meeting.
The outgoing SDM Balbir Thakur and Vinay Dhiman, the New SDM of Manali and local Municipal Council President vice-President Chaman Kapoor also attended the meeting.
It has been reported that as many as 13 cultural troupes from Assam, Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir have confirmed their participation in the Winter Carnival so far. The winter carnival has performed a key role in depicting the cultural indent of the region in particular and Himachal in general at the National level.
It is expected that the Winter Carnival Manali 2013 will certainly give a boost to the inflow of tourists during these winter months . It is learnt that north zone cultural center Patiala will also give choicest cultural performance during the carnival.
