New Delhi: Israel ambassador Alon Ushpiz sought out chief minister Minister Virbhadra Singh at Delhi today to explore possibilities of business tie-up in agriculture, horticulture and allied sectors, a government spokesman stated here.
Issues related to mutual cooperation between Himachal and Israel were discussed at the meeting, he said.
The chief minister stressed the need for advanced technical know-how in agriculture and horticulture sectors where Israel had made significant breakthroughs.
The Israel diplomat mentioned the opportunities existing in water management, waste management, irrigation, post harvest infrastructural facilities that would be of tremendous benefit for small agriculturists and fruit growers.
On the occasion Ushpiz invited a delegation from Himachali to study various sectors and explore possibilities for tie ups.
The Israel delegation that met the chief minister included Eyal Siso, Minister Counsellor, Shuky Bachar, Deputy Defence Attache and Shimon Merciner, Head Political Affairs of the Embassy.
Transport minister GS Bali and Urban Development minister Sudhir Sharma were also present on this occasion.
