Shimla: A cold wave is likely to grip Himachal Pradesh with heavy rain and snow forecast in the next few days, the Met office here said Tuesday.
“Heavy rain, snowfall will occur at a few places in Chamba, Lahaul and Spiti, Kullu, Kangra, Kinnaur and Shimla districts Jan 17 and 18,” said an official of the meteorological department.
He said chances of snow in Shimla, Kufri, Narkanda, Kalpa, Manali and Dalhousie towns are high.
Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district was the coldest town in the state Tuesday with a low of minus 6.5 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperatures in Shimla and Dharamsala were 3.7 degrees and 8.6 degrees respectively.
Kalpa, some 250 km from Shimla, saw the night temperature at minus 2.6 degrees Celsius.
