Moscow: A girl in Ukraine had to be rushed to the hospital after she tried gobbling some bananas against the clock during a speed eating contest.
The incident occurred when the 19-year-old resident of the Ukrainian town of Grebenka braved the banana speed eating contest held by a local cafe in Poltava region, reported Vpoltave.info regional news website.
But the hapless girl, whose name was withheld, choked on the fruit and had to be hospitalised with asphyxia, the report said.
The teenager survived, but law enforcement officers are looking into the incident, which happened Saturday, but was not reported earlier.
