New Delhi: Kapil Sibal’s website was hacked by the ‘Anonymous India’ hacking group today. Kapil Sibal currently holds the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology in the UPA led government.

The hackers have changed the ‘About Me’ section of his website and used foul language. To quote from the hacked website, “He somehow formed the rules in such a way, that everyone can censor everyone there by hiding behind everyone to be able to censor what really hurt him and his party.”

Earlier this year, Sibal had asked the social media companies to obey the laws of the land. He said the government would introduce guidelines to keep a check on the blasphemous material appearing on the Internet.

Morphed images of Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, and other Congress leaders were believed to be the cause of his anger. He had asked the companies to release the data where from these images were being uploaded and who was doing it.

However, strong voices were raised against this and Sibal had to trackback from his original statement.

Anonymous India is believed to be the group behind this attack. Earlier this month, two girls were arrested by the Mumbai Police for making ‘objectionable’ remarks against the deceased Shiv Sena leader, Bal Thackeray.

The attack on Sibal’s website appears to be a retaliation against that very incident.
