TATA 407 rolls down in Tissa, driver dies

Chamba: A Tata 407 coming back from Jalandhar to Tissa after selling green peas, met with an accident near Madhuwad some 18 km from Tissa.

Ajit Singh, the driver from village Ninodi and owner Mehboob of Badsar village of Tissa were inside the vehicle at the time of the accident. The accident took place between 9-10 P.M. yesterday but people came to know about the accident next morning only when buses started passing by.

Driver Ajit Singh was found dead and the owner was seriously injured who is still reported to be in a critical condition at district hospital Chamba. The driver is survived by her wife and 2 children of age 2 and 5 years.

The roads in Chamba, or for that matter in the whole state are in very poor state. Although the BJP government claims winning more than 200 awards among which most of them are called as Best Tourism State, the condition of the roads suggest something else.

In 2012 countless fatal accidents have taken place in the Tisaa region and with elections round the corner, construction of new roads looks completely out of the picture.
