Srinagar: Suspected militants today shot dead a retired Deputy Superintendent (DySP) of Jammu and Kashmir Police outside a mosque in Batamaloo area of Srinagar.
Reports said that Ex DYSP, Abdul Hamid Bhat was coming out from Mosque when suspected militants shot him in the head in the Tengpora Batamaloo locality.
A police official said that Bhat was posted as DySP Nowhatta in 2008 which is considered a hotbed of stone pelting in down town area.
In recent past Srinagar city has witnessed couple of high profile attacks this year.
