Shimla : An old building collapsed in a crowded part of Shimla in Himachal Pradesh today , nobody was injured .
The building was located in the highly congested lower bazar area in downtown Shimla , it was owned by the waqf board and housed many people . Luckily no one was present when the collapse took place in the evening . A portion of the building is still standing precariously.
The multi storied building housed a few shops . Civic authorities had declared the building unsafe way back in 1988 when a portion of the building was damaged, but it isn’t clear why it hadn’t been cleared or demolished .
The lower bazar has many other old buildings belonging to the Raj era .
