Kolkata : Many people mostly patients are trapped and injured in a fire that has engulfed AMRI hospital in south Kolkata , Friday , police said .
The fire engulfed four floors but is now confined to the basement and is being doused slowly .Fire engines have rushed to the spot and patients and hospital staff are being evacuated.
Patients were quoted as saying they noticed the fire around 4 .A.M. A huge crowd has gathered outside the hospital many relatives of the trapped patients reports said .
