Commanders of Libya’s transitional authorities say they have captured Col Muammar Gaddafi , Libya’s former leader .
But there is no independent confirmation of his capture though .
Col Gaddafi took over the reigns of power in Libya in 1969 .
“He’s captured, he’s wounded in both legs,†Abdel Majid was quoted as saying by the Reuters news agency .
Reports also said he has been driven away in an ambulance .
