Shimla : In a startling revelation at least 40 per cent private bus drivers in Shimla do not have a driving license , say officials of the state traffic police .
Having apparently woken from a deep slumber the traffic police in the past few of days has been checking licenses and other documents of private buses running across the hill station .
In the last three days alone 23 drivers have been found driving without possessing a driving license . There are 70 private buses operating in the town . A few more still have to be checked and chances are some more violators could be found says the traffic police .
Since the figure of violator is so high questions are being asked when did the traffic police check the licenses of bus drivers last !
