The rock and mudslide is taking place at Rani nalla 40 km from Manali, scores of vehicles have been marooned on the other side of spot.
Around 3000 tourists and locals including some 150 foreigners have been stranded in and around the 3980 m high Rohtang pass. Most of them were on way to Spiti and Leh or returning.
Some of the people have managed to walk across the landslide towards Manali. But those with vehicles continue to wait in the cold as the border roads organisation(BRO) is clearing the debris.
Despite rains easing in the last couple of days across the state many major roads including four national highways continue to be blocked at several places even as efforts are on clear these roads.
