Shimla: Commending the chief minister for announcing an engineering college at Pragiti Nagar, Kotkhai in the government sector, technical education minister Narinder Bragta said that 5 courses would be started from the current session itself.
Talking to My Himachal News, Bragta who is also incharge of horticulture ministry said the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Institute of Engineering and Technology announced by the chief minister in his budget speech would be the second engineering college in the state after the one at Sundernagar in the government sector.
Like the Longowal Engineering Institute in Punjab and another one in West Bengal, he said it would be only the third institute in the country which besides engineering would also offer polytechnic and ITI courses for study and training.
The Pragiti Nagar engineering institute would become functional from the current session and courses in at least 5 trades would be started there, said Bragta.
