Shimla: Leading manufacturer and exporter of automotive filters, Mahle Filter Systems (India) is adding capacities by commissioning its second manufacturing unit at Parwanoo.
On the eve of starting the new plant, KC Anand, member Anand Automotive Group that operates the plant under a joint venture with MAHLE group of Germany said, â€œwith the largest range of automotive components, the group recorded a sale turnover of Rs 4000 Cr in 2009-10 and is targeting a turnover of Rs 9000 Cr by 2014.10-11700 million.
He said that the Anand Group had an investment plan of Rs 1300-1500 crore over the next five years for new plants and joint ventures in the automotive sector and capacity building in existing plants.
â€œThe new plant would manufacture PU moulded filter elements, ecological plastic embedded filter elements, lube oil spin-on filter with new crimping design and high technology air management products. The process in the plant would include polyurethane moulded elements, filter paper embedment into plastic and felt media and crimping process for sheet metal parts.
The new unit has a design capacity to manufacture 22 million filters in a year and is expected to generate revenues to the tune of Rs 25 crore in 2011-12,â€ said Sunil Nair, COO Mahle Filter. The revenue target for next year is Rs 50 crore, he added.
The joint venture company between MAHLE group of Germany and Anand (earlier known as Purolator) is one of the largest automotive manufacturing companies in the country with facilities to manufacture air, oil, fuel and hydraulic filters for applications also in railways, aviation and earthmoving industries.
