Sankalp launches Winter Children Theatre Workshop 2010 at Shimla

Shimla: Winter Children Theatre Workshop 2010 was launched at Gaiety Theatre, today. This workshop is the second phase of Sankalp TREAT 2010-11 which dedicates this programme to the Legend of Indian Theatre “Late Sh. Manohar Singh.” The 1st Phase was launched in October with Late Sh. Manohar Singh Memorial Inter-School Drama Competition 2010.

This was disclosed in a press conference at Gaiety Theatre by Vikrant Singta of Sankalp.

MC Saxena, an eminent sculptor, and S N Joshi (IAS Retd.), a known theatre personality, presided over the function.

The programme is conducted for strengthening education and learning amongst school and College students in Himachal through Theatre.

It is also to organize advanced learning for participants through workshops to improve voice and speech, Acting and design skills, Aesthetics, Sense of Belonging, Body language, Coordination, basics of Theatre & Team Spirit in Theatre & Film Making.
The winners in the competition will get an opportunity to participate in the theatre workshop as well as in their films. During the workshop the winners will be refined and professional theatre activists. They will help students to improve their original productions. These productions will be staged again after the workshop on 29th, 30th & 31st December 2010.

The inaugural workshop was taken by MC Saxena where students were distinguished under their talent which will be polished here.

The event will continue till 31st of December.

Raised in Shimla and originally from Mandi district, Disha wears many caps which includes being part of a lead team of a fast growing IT company based out of Chandigarh. Earlier Disha was associated with My Himachal and visits Shimla regularly.
