Shimla: One lady passenger was killed on the spot and the remaining 59 others sustained injuries in a bus accident in Rohru today.
Police spokesman Shiv Sharma said that Shamla (36), a resident of Banoti Devidhar and wife of Bhajan Dass died on the spot in the bus accident that occurred at about 2.30 p.m. near Samoli Pul within the periphery of Rohru township.
He said that 31 patients had been referred to IGMC hospital at Shimla of whom 8 are considered to be serious. The bus driver and the conductor are among the seriously injured.
The private bus (Aryan Travels HP-63-1100) was on its way from Rohru to Banoti Devidhar, when it lost control and fell into the valley.
On the basis of statements made by the passengers, the police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving, though mechanical failure has not been ruled out yet.
