Shimla: Rajendra Rajan, a creative writer presently working as Deputy Director in Information & Public Relations Department of Himachal government, Shimla has been selected for the Film Appreciation Course – 2009. The Four week long training course is being conducted by National Film Archive of India in collaboration with Film & Television Institute of India from 25th May to 20th June 2009 at Pune.

The annual Summer Course in Film Appreciation is primarily designed to meet the needs of Government officials handling films, film critics, journalists, film researchers and film society organizers. The participants in Film Appreciation Course from different professions from all over India will be exposed to the best of Indian and World Cinema. Among the major topics to be taught during the course comprise basics of the film making, cinema as an art, film history, film theory and the relationship of cinema to other arts.Â
