Shimla: Yesterday mid-night a ferocious fire broke out in the jungle of Tara Devi 11 kms from Shimla. The smoke from conflagration is slowing engulfing whole main city.
As you can see in the picture, the smoke covered city making the Tara Devi hill invisible which can be seen in the other picture taken few days back.
The DFO Shimla said, “The fire ignited from the Shoghi-Dhalli bye-pass spreading to the Tara Devi forest. Though this land is not under forest Department but still our people are taking all measures since 2:00 am to extinguish it. This particular land is under Scouts of Haryana Govt., they have 349 bighas forest land and every year they auction grass, now we can’t say that this fire is blown by them or villagers.â€
The cause behind the fire is not been yet discovered but the Forest Department is making its full efforts to extinguish the fire. No loss as such of life or property is reported yet, as revealed by a Forest Department Official.
