Chamba: The valedictory function of the 5th batch of Nature Study Camp organised by the Youth Hostels Association of India was held at Youth Hostel Dalhousie. 126 participants from Delhi, Bijnor, Mirzapur, Vadodra and Ahmedabad took part in this batch out of which 49 were female and 77 were male. They belonged to 57 different schools. The students took part in rappelling, river crossing and trekking activities. They also collected plastic bags and bottles which were scattered in the jungles and in the tourist spots of Kalatop, Khajjiar and Panchpulla. Anuj Heera, Sagar Pandhya, Himani Thanki and Prasoon Kumar were the environment leaders of this batch.

Suvir Ahuja, President of Dalhousie Hill Top School was the chief guest for the function. While addressing the students after distributing certificates, he said that the students would have enjoyed the scenic beauty of Dalhousie, which is peaceful, quiet, and pollution free hill station. Your stay here will extend your life span. The trek that you all did from Dainkund to Joth is one of the best treks around this place. He also appreciated the Punjabi integration song and the Garbha song presented by the students.

Suvir Ahuja also distributed prizes to the winners of the painting competition held on the topic ‘nature’.
First prize- Prachi Agrawal – Saint Annes High School – Ahmedabad
Second prize- Thakur Ramesh Singh – Modern Era Public School – Bijnor
Third prize- Rizwana Vora – Angel School – Anand

Smitish Pagar, Poshti Gandhi, Thakur Rameek Singh and Anita Mary Saviour were the group leaders. Rajkumar Chauhan is the Co-director for this camp.

The students presented a Gujarathi and a Punjabi Integration song. Sunai Yadav from Vadodra presented instrumental music and Shivansh Johri from Delhi presented an English poem.

The Field director welcomed the gathering and Rizwana Vohra presented a vote of thanks. Jyoti Joshi, Hatkar Ramesh, Dr. Ashwin Dabhi, Sharad Mehrotra and MN.Singh were the escorts for this batch.
