Dhumal Predicts Win In All Four Seats In Himachal For BJP

dhumalPALAMPUR: Mr. Prem Kumar Dhumal Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh today predicted that BJP would win all the four seats of parliament in the coming Lok sabha elections in the state.  BJP’s election campaign was for ahead than congress party and it had already completed most of the ground work. He said congress stalwart and former Chief Minister Vir Bhadara Singh had been facing tough challenge from Maheshwar Singh of BJP in Mandi area, who had remained confined to only his own Mandi constituency.

Addressing one day state level meet of State Bhartiya Yuva Janta Morcha, he said as and when the congress party ruled the state it had failed to come to the expectation of the people , not fulfilled the promises made in the election manifesto and virtually cheated the people of the state who voted it to the power.

Mr. Dhumal said even today the congress was creating hurdle in the development of the state and pressurizing the union government for not allocating major projects to the state. He said despite heavy odds and poor financial health of the state, in past one year BJP government had taken various major development projects which included widening of roads, augmentation of drinking water supply schemes. Besides, in past one year state had received a big boost in industrial sector as many new units had come to the state.

He said poor gathering in the congress meeting all over the state had indications that people were with the BJP and they would again reject the congress in the parliament elections. He regretted that congress leaders were making personal attacks and indulging in mud slugging. Besides, false and baseless complaints were being sent to the Election Commission. He said these acts of the congress leaders were open violation of model code of conduct.

Chief Minister said BJP government in its one year tenure in the office had succeeded in getting an IIT, Central University and AIMS standard hospital and medical college for the state . These were the major achievements of BJP and state would get over ten thousand crores of rupees for these projects from union government in coming years.

Mr Prem Kumar Dhumal disclosed that previous congress government had left debts worth rupees 22000 crores , payable to various financial institutions and banking agencies and today state government was paying interest over rupees 3000 crore on these loans annually.

Mr. Shanta Kumar, MP and former union minister also addressed the convention and called upon the workers to defeat the BJP on all the four seats in the state strengthen the hands of Mr. L.K. Advani, Prime Ministerial candidate of NDA
