State government allots 352.58 crores for Poly House project

352.58 crores of Pandit Deen Dayal Kisan Samridhi Yojna Poly House project had been on track since January 1, 2009 in Himachal where the state government plans to provide boost to diversified farming activities and strengthening the economy of about 30,000 farmers in the State and social security pension enhanced to Rs. 330 in order to benefit about 2.50 lakh pensioners, stated Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister after laying the foundation stone of the Civil Hospital, at Kandaghat, Solan.

Under the project it has been planned to provide the farmers 80 per cent subsidy on the project cost and 28,080 poly houses to be constructed while the water efficient drip hand pumps, mini and micro irrigation projects had also been included under the project to make judicious use of the available natural resources.

Chief Minister stated that Solan had been most progressive district in farming. He further announced that 5 crores would be spent on tourism development in Solan.
