Stolen medicine raw material seized from SAS Nagar

KUMARHATTI:The Baddi police have claimed to have busted a gang of thieves by seizing medicine raw material worth Rs. 9, 41,335 from a house at SAS Nagar in Punjab. The raw material was stolen from GMH Organic at Jharmazri near Baddi on the intervening night of June 8 and 9. The material was recovered from house no 276 in Phase 3-A after one of gang member, Naresh Kumar made the disclosure in this regard.

Naresh a Store Manager with Baddi based Ozone Pharma was arrested along with other six members of gang on June 17 in and around Baddi following police started massive search operation to nab the accused. On that day the police have also seized the stolen material worth Rs. 8, 69,068 from Baddi.

The material was kept in the house of two friends of Ranjay Kumar who was brother-in- law to Naresh. After making the theft, Naresh had approached Ranjay who stayed at Mohali to help him to accommodate some of his personal belongings. Unaware about the theft material, Ranjay expressed his inability to keep it in his rented accommodation for want of space.

Then following Naresh persuasion, Ranjay had to approach his two friends which were also putting up in rented accommodations. One of accommodation key was handed over to land lord so that Naresh could come anytime to take his belongings.

Ranjay and his two friends have no clue about Naresh involvement in theft, said police.
