Engineering student falls from 4th floor, dies

KUMARHATTI: The mystery shrouds the death of a student of Institute of Engineering and Emerging Technologies, Bhud near Baddi who had fallen form 4th floor of the hostel in the wee hour of this morning. Sanved Sharma the deceased who hailed from Dharamsala had reportedly fallen at around 3 am when he was talking on his cell.

He was rushed to Malhotra Hospital, Baddi but later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, Chandigarh due to his deteriorating condition. But he breathed his last in the hospital. He sustained serious injuries on his head.

The deceased father, Mr. Vinod Sharma, however has accused the Institute management for showing negligence towards students’ safety. The father questioned the circumstances that led to his son death. It was a duty of hostel warden to take care of hostel students, he pointed out. Meanwhile the institute management has termed down the incident as an accidental.

The deceased was student of Electrical Engineering.

Meanwhile a 19-year old migrant girl has jumped from the 4th floor of an under construction building at Baddi last night. She was rushed to GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh but could not be saved. The girl along with his family was engaged in the building construction work. She hailed from UP. According to the available kind information the girl was mentally upset.
