Shimla: Himachal Government would be taking necessary steps to fill up the vacancies by empanelment of the technical assistants (takniki sahayaks) besides filling up of 40 posts of junior engineers in the gram panchayats after observing all codal formalities, CM Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, informed the deputation of technical assistants which called on him today.
State Government had enhanced the authorized limit of work being executed in the gram panchayats from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1.5 lakh with a view to generate more sources of income by way of commission to the technical assistants. Earlier the technical assistants were getting two percent commission against the developmental works estimated upto Rs. 50,000 which had now been enhanced to Rs. 1.5 lakh authorizing a commission of 1.5 percent over the same. He said that there were about 878 technical assistants empanelled in the State who were supervising the gram panchayat developmental activities.
State Government had already sanctioned 40 posts of civil junior engineers to supervise the developmental activities in the rural areas and process was in progress to carry recruitment for the same on contract basis.
