Shimla: With just two more years, when the special incentives for new industrial units lapses for Himachal, the State Industrial Development Corporation (SIDC) is hoping to cash on the late comers with a plan to develop 500 bighas of land for industrial purposes at Baddi.
After presiding over a board meeting of SIDC, chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said that the cooperation was exploring the possibilities of developing a modern city centre at Nalagarh to meet the needs of the entrepreneurs in the area.
Emphasizing on the need to create good infrastructure for setting up of industrial areas in a planned manner, he said that a portion of the Davni industrial area at Baddi had been developed and 29 industrial plots have already been sold by SIDC for Rs 19 crore.
Transparency was being maintained in allotment of plots as they were being offered through public auctions. Plans were afoot to develop new industrial areas in a systematic manner, he added.
