C.M. dedicated Rs. 2.90 crore Indoor Stadium at Dharamsala

Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister today honoured the National Sports Awardees with cash award, citation and momento in the State level ‘Samman Samaroh’ organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Dharamsala today. He also dedicated the Indoor Stadium completed at a cost of Rs. 2.90 crore at Dharamsala to the sports persons of the State.

CM informed that 960 sports persons had been honoured so far with cash prizes of Rs. 80 lacs. He said that 95 outstanding sports persons at national and international level, 16 outstanding youth who had contributed towards youth activities and 7 coaches were also awarded for exemplary services towards sports promotion. He awarded prize money worth
Rs. 1.60 lac to 95 National players of the State besides Rs. 43,000 to 16 youth.

He said that state had 39 stadiums for different sports constructed at a cost of Rs. 14 crore and added that work on 17 such projects was in progress which would soon be completed.

Prof. Dhumal appreciated the contribution made by outstanding sports persons at national and international level which included Samresh Jang in shooting from
Nahan, Vijay Kumar in Shooting from Hamirpur, Madan Lal, Deepak Thakur and those who excelled in winter sports who had brought laurels to the State.
About 50,000 sports persons had represented the State in different activities outside the State.
