Shimla: With the new government settling in, alongside making changes in bureaucracy, the government today changed the top order of the police and created new posts for placing them according to their hierarchy.
Daljit Minhas, ADG Armed Police and Training has been transferred and given the important task on manning the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau. Minhas would also hold additional charge of CID.
Sohan Lal, additional director general (ADG) headquarters has been elevated as director general (DG) and given charge of prisons, a newly created position to post the officer.
Prem Singh, (ADG) state vigilance and anti-corruption bureau, has been elevated and made DG where he would be manning the new position at home guards, fire services and civil defense. He has also been given the additional charge to handle law and order.
BS Thind, ADG home guards, fire services and civil defence has been posted as ADG Armed Police and Training in place of Minhas. Ashok Kumar Sood, ADG prisons has been made ADGP headquarters.
