Himachal capital to be developed as heritage town

Shimla: Chief Minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal informed that state government would be improving the municipal services to the residents of capital town, provide adequate drinking water, improve the road conditions, bore tunnels for smooth plying of vehicles, develop more parking lots, complete the Giri water supply scheme, inter-state bus stand and maintain the cleanliness to uphold the heritage status of the town to give boost for tourism activities in a big way.
Prof. Dhumal said work on Giri water supply scheme was started during his previous tenure and adequate budgetary provisions made to complete the same and place identified for new ultramodern inter state bus stand near Tutikandi, parking lots developed to facilitate the parking of the vehicles.

He said that his government would be implementing all the ambitious programmes envisioned for improvement of the civic amenities and other tourism promotional facilities in the town for which detailed project report would be prepared.
