Himachal Vidhan sabha session from January 10th or 11th in Dharamshala
HAMIRPUR: The new Himachal Pradesh cabinet will be expanded in Shimla on Janaury 9th. The Governor would administer oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed ministers on that day, chief minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal informed here today. He, however, refused to tell the names of the persons to be inducted as the ministers in his cabinet. Talking to reporters, he said that he was going to New Delhi this evening and will hold talks with senior party leaders on the issue of cabinet formation.
He said that the first session of new HP Vidhan sabha will start in new Vidhan sabha parisar (building) either on January 10th or 11 th . Dhumal said that on the opening day, the Pro tem speaker will administer oath of office to the newly elected members. The new ministers would also be introduced to the members on the same day.
Dhumal said that the BJP victory in election was the victory of masses and the people of the state had rejected the multi party system in the state. It voted for two party system and virtually rejected the formation of another front in shape of BSP.
He said that the much hyped social engineering formula of Ms. Mayawati, the UP chief minister failed in the state of Himachal Pradesh as people of state never voted on caste or creed lines. He said,” Though social engineering formula is a good one yet the way, Mayawati is trying to get political mileage out of it was not good. This is the reason that she (Mayawati) has dissolved the Brahmin and Vaish samaj bhaichara samitis all over India after getting their votes in the UP elections”.
The chief minister announced that in future no garlands and buckeyes would be accepted by him and ministers during the official functions. The old practice would be bade good bye for ever to save time and money.
He also appealed to the people not to spend money for purchasing garlands for him and other VVIP’s. If they (people) were so curious, they should give the money for the chief minister’s relief fund so that the money meant for the garlands was properly used for the suffering humanity.
