KUMARHATTI: The three labourers have sustained burn injuries one of them serious when the melted scrap materials fell on them at Jharmajri near Barotiwala late last night .The incident took place at around 11 pm in R. R. Casting when the victims were busy in melting the scrap goods in a unit furnace.
To maintain the temperature inside the furnace they were trying to put water pressure thorough a pipe surrounding the furnace. The water gushed inside the furnace due to leakage in water pipe. As water entered the furnace the melted material fell on the three who were very close to the furnace at that time.
The workers were rushed to a local hospital. While Ajai and Inder Dev from Bihar were discharged from hospital today, the third worker, Ajay was rushed to PGI Chandigarh. He hailed from Nepal.
A case for showing negligence towards labourers’ safety has been registered against unit management.
