Shimla: Unable to contain the rebellion in the ranks, BJP got to expelling rebels who are contesting against the official nominees in at least nine assembly segments.
State BJP President Jai Ram Thakur said that the nine rebels who have refused to withdraw from the contest stand expelled from the party for six years. Those expelled include RD Kashyap from the Kasumpati constituency, Rakesh Pathania from the Nurpur, Anita Dhiman from Gangat, Hira Lal from Karsog, Amar Singh Chandel from Shillai, Vikram Jaryal from Bhatiyat, Balbir Chaudhary from Shahpur, Navin Kumar from Ghumarwin and Harish Sharma form Mandi.
Besides these expulsions the party has accepted the resignation of Karan Singh from the party he added. Karan Singh, a scion of the Kullu royal house, on being denied a party ticket from Kullu seat had tendered his resignation from BJP and is contesting the election on a BSP ticket.
