Around 5,000 people will look after the vote counting of 68 Himachal Assembly Constituencies

Shimla: After Gujarat not it’s time to know Himachal Pradesh’s political destiny for next five years. Tomorrow, the counting for 68 Himachal Assembly Constituencies will start at 8.00AM.

Chief Electoral Officer Manisha Nanda, revealed that 5000 persons has been deputed on counting duty in the State which include 878 Counting Supervisors, 878 Counting Assistants, 878 Additional Staff. She said that in 41 locations, 68 Halls has been selected for counting where 878 Counting Tables have been set up and about 2040 persons will assist and 68 Observers will be on duty during counting process in the State. She further said that 41 engineers from the Bharat Electronics Limited, Bangalore (BEL) will also be on duty to ensure smooth functioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Moreover, 552 counting passes have been issued to media persons for the coverage of news, she added.

CEO also threw some light over the numder/ratio of electors and said that Himachal has total 45,44,166 electors which include 22, 92,794 male and 22,51,372 female electors. 32,75,924 electors casted their votes out of which 69.67% that is 15,97,504 were male and 72.55% i.e. 16,78,420 were female electors. Nalagarh Assembly Constituency of the Solan district had the highest 85.25% female voting, she added.
