Governor launches Youth Red Cross Wing

Shimla: Himachal Governor V.S. Kokje, today launched the Youth Red Cross Wing at Rajkiya Kanya Mahavidyalaya (RKMV).

Kokje said that every branch of Red Cross Society has Youth Section in every State to provide opportunity to young people to help others in a practical way. He said that Youth Red Cross is an important wing of the Red Cross Society because youth were well motivated, talented with new ideas, quick to adopt and accept challenges. He further said that they could contribute to the development of local and national level Red Cross activities and added that youth were quick to respond when called to assist in activities like disaster relief, first aid, blood donation, health awareness etc.

Governor installed Miss Meera Thakur, Miss Anita Negi, Miss Nidhi Patiyal, Miss Sheetal Delta, Miss Nidhi Thakur, Miss Shilpa and Miss S. Baryal as Executive Members, Mrs. Meera Walia as Chairman and Dr. Saroj Bhardwaj as In-charge Programme Officer of Youth Red Cross Wing.
