Himachal Pradesh Governor, V.S. Kokje, inaugurated Emaar MGF Golf Championship- 2007 at Naldehra today, which was organized by Department of Tourism H.P. in conjunction with Emaar MGF.
Kokje said that Golf is essentially a leisure sport and Himachal Pradesh is a very popular holiday destination with its climate. Golf in Himachal Pradesh started hundred years ago.
Naldehra Golf course provides a unique experience. It still retains a picture post card beauty with the spectacular view of the mountains’ and deodar forests and the lush green sloping glades on which, Lord Curzon camped and conceived what is today one of the most scenic and challenging Golf course in the country, which late Dr. Y.S. Parmar the then Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh also used to play golf at Naldehra.
Naldehra Golf course is being upgraded so that national-level tournaments could also be held here.
