BADDI: The Baddi, Barotiwala and Nalagarh Industries Association (BBNIA) have allotted two software projects to the students of Institute of Engineering & Emerging Technologies (IEET), Baddi today.
The students of Computer Science and Information Technology Engineering Department of IEET would develop these two projects for computerizing the truck union operations of BBN region and another for establishing database for members of BBN Industries Association.
Mr. Arun Rawat, General Secretary of BBNIA, Baddi said that the projects were assigned in view of the world class facilities and infrastructure available at IEET. He said this would help to increase the interface of IEET students with industries in big way.
Dr. R.C. Bahl Principal, IEET said that it was a great honour to get such big projects. He emphasized on the sustained development of engineering education. For this we must improve the opportunities for well trained engineers to pursue innovative research and to apply science and engineering in the areas of importance, he asserted. These projects would be a part of their practical training course and besides giving them exposure to deal with the intricacies of live projects, he maintained.
Mr. Jaswinder Singh Dilawari, Head of IEET CSE and IT said that Net technology would be used for developing these softwares. The team of 32 final year students under the supervision of eight faculty members would develop the softwares. EOM
