Roads of problems

KUMARHATTI: A Maruti car entered a shop in local market and injured two people. This was happened yesterday when the car driver going uphill lost control on vehicle after getting confused of bus stand spot having meeting point of five roads. Few days back a woman has fallen victim to hap hazardous traffic moving through the market. Similarly a school going child sustained injury while crossing from the market.

The list of such type of mishaps was long. The hap-hazardous moving of vehicles and repeated traffic jams has exposed the town’s residents to high risk. The town bus stand point has roads leading to Barog, Dagshai, Solan and Nahan besides Kalka –Shimla national highway crosses though the bazaar. What makes things more difficult is a blind curve on highway just before the bazaar from Parwanoo side.

The bus stand is located in the middle of bazaar. It remains heavily crowded throughout the day with passengers waiting to board buses. The vehicles particulars of those on a joy ride to hills in their cars have no idea of merging traffic when they enter town. The bus stand area is further congested with the parking of private taxis near the site. The chaos rules the bazaar most of time when vehicles zooming past from all sides choked the road. The situation is gone from bad to worse on weekend when large number of tourists makes beeline to hills.

For passengers, it is do or die battle when they board or alight from buses with vehicles come rushing from all sides. The minor mishaps are common at spot. Ironically no signboard has put up to warn the motorists. Though a traffic personnel can be seen roaming at spot. But he has to perform little as regulating traffic at spot is virtual impossible task without the traffic post. A traffic post set up at Dagshai road is of on use due to its irrelevant location.
