Airtel connects Himachal’s high altitude Bharmaur valley

Shimla: In the nick of time for providing connectivity to the high altitude pilgrim heading for the Manimahesh Yatra in Bharmaur valley of Chamb, Airtel, the mobile provider has launched it service in the remote region.

Announcing the launch of service RVS Bhullar, COO (Mobility), Bharti Airtel HP Circle said, “We are delighted to bring our services and connect the residents of Bharmour to the the world. This service will benefit devotees from all over the world during the pious Manimahesh pilgrimage who can now avail Airtel Services on roaming here.

To have a congestion free network the service provider has installed 725 cell sites in the state which is the highest among all the mobile telephony service providers. After the latest expansion the network claims that it is now providing mobile connectivity to over 57 towns and over 8000 villages in the hill state. Airtel remains the first mobile provider, to have entered the state, starting operations in the early 90s when the new techonology was just being unrolled in the country.
