KUMARHATTI: The two person has sustained serious injuries when a jeep carrying them rolled down into a gorge on Kalka-Shimla national highway near here last night. The incident took place at around 9 pm when the driver of jeep could not notice the damaged wall on valley side of highway.
The jeep rolled down the hills but luckily fields downstream the highway prevented further falling of jeep. The nearby residents rushed to spot after alerted over sound noise. The driver and another person were pulled out from jeep and rushed to nearby Health Center.
Meanwhile the local residents have expressed dismay over the failure of PWD National Highway to repair the wall. The wall was damaged very long time back but PWD has failed to take notice of it, they accused. The point has become very dangerous due to its location on a sharp curve. The residents demanded immediate repair of wall.
