In a letter addressed to Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Mr. Digvijaly Gupta, President of Nahan Nagrik Sabha has demanded immediate action against in charge of Nahan district Hospital and Doctors who were absent from their duty without any prior information from, the Hospital on the night of May 31st.
Narrating the incident he has stated that when at 9.00 o’clock in the night hours he visited the Hospital he found a large number of patients waiting for a doctor and three patients were in very serious condition. There was no doctor on duty and no body in the Hospital knew about the duty of the doctor. Care taker CMO was not attending his telephone. Patients, after two hours of long wait for doctor and caretaker CMO expressed their strong resentment against the ‘careless and deplorable attitude’ of the Hospital authorities and shouted slogans in the Hospital complex.
After this resentment, caretaker CMO along with a doctor appeared in the Hospital. Mr. Digvijay Singh has made it clear in the letter that if no action was taken against the caretaker CMO and doctors who were absent from their day and night duties, with in seven days Nagrik Sabha would be compelled to launch an agitation against the pathetic condition and poor services in the Hospital.
