Highest snowfall recorded (73 cm) in shimla after 1990. While the higher regions of the state had received meagre snowfall earlier this winter, the state capital had missed its share. The fresh snowfall has brought back smiles on the faces of the farmers, while a drought situation had crept up in the state. Tourists too had eluded the hill-station this season.
