Computerization of land records in progress in Himachal

A Spokesman of the Land Records Department said here today that Rs. 1029 lacs have been spent so far on creation of infrastructural facilities, data entry hardware and computerization of land records was in progress in all the districts. He said that data entry work of 109 Tehsils/Sub Tehsils was in progress at respective District Computer Centres and the Jamabandis of more than 19589 villages have so far been computerized. He said that 87 Tehsils have completed the computerization process and have started issuing the computerized copies of land records. Efforts were afoot to complete data entry work in respect of remaining Tehsil/Sub Tehsils by the end of March 2007, he added.

He said that an amount of Rs. 529 lacs had been released by the Government of India for the construction of 1st and 2nd phase of Revenue Training Institute, Jogindernagar and added that 409 lacs have already been utilized for the construction work. He said that the construction work of 1st phase of RTI i.e. Hostel Block, Dining cum Kitchen Block, Type-V Residence and Administrative Blocks had been completed and work of 2nd phase was in progress, he added.
