Patiala: Income tax officials seized Rs 3.47 Crore from a vehicle in which three persons were travelling at Sambhu, an interstate barrier.
The unaccounted money is believed to belong to hawala operations. The three persons with the cash were handed over to the police.
Deputy director Income Tax (Patiala Intelligence Wing) Rajinder Kaur confirming seizing of the money said, “the seized amount is under investigation and we are ascertaining the source of the funds and its intended use.â€
