Kolkata, June 14 (IANS) At least three people drowned and over a dozen were reported missing after a boat carrying about 70 passengers capsized in West Bengal’s Malda district Friday, an official said.
“So far, we have found three bodies while over a dozen people are missing. Rescue operations are on,” Malda district magistrate Godala Kiran Kumar said.
The boat was ferrying the passengers across the Ganges and capsized at Manikchak town, around 345 km from here.
Others either swam to safety or were rescued, the official said.
