My Himachal And Censud organises debate on AIDS

Mandi: In its series of AIDS Awareness Programmes, My Himachal and Centre for Sustainable Development (CENSUD) today organised a Poster Competition and a debate on the topic “Is Sex Education relevant in fight against HIV- AIDS”. Students from MLSM College, Blooms College of Education, Lord Budha College of Education, Namdhari College of education and Lalit Sen Institute of Business, Eductaion and Technology participated in this competition. Ajay Rana, Director, STA was Chief Guest on this occasion while Praveen Sharma, Member, Media Advisor Committee, Govt. of H.P. presided over the function.

Speaking on this occasion Ajay Rana said it is the youth who are the largest victims of this calamity and they will have to take initiative against this disease. It is only youth who can give new direction to the society, so they should come forward and spread awareness about AIDS. He lauded the efforts of My Himachal and CENSUD in spreading awareness about AIDS. It is the need of this hour for each one to teach one about AIDS.

Praveen Sharma while addressing the students said that since AIDS is incurable it can be fought only by spreading awareness about this disease. Governments alone cannot fight this disease. B. Ed. Students being future architects of nation have a great role to play in fight against AIDS. Awareness is the only way to prevent this disease.

Dr. R S Chandel, Principal, MLSM College said only aware students can act as opinion leaders in spreading awareness against AIDS. Chief Guest gave away prizes to winners in various competitions. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Jitender Verma, President, Censud.
