Mumbai, May 19 (IANS) The producers of the Anurag Kashyap-directed “Ugly” left with the film for the ongoing Cannes International Film Festival, but Vikramaditya Motwane, who’s also a producer, was left behind.
And with good reason.
Motwane, who attended the prestigious film festival in 2010 with his directorial debut “Udaan”, which was screened in the Un Certain Regard section, is not allowed to take a single day off from the editing, and post-production phase of his directorial venture “Lootera”.
“Lootera” is being readied for a July release and the film’s other producers Madhu Mantena and Vikas Bhel took a conscious decision to leave Motwane behind. Apparently “Lootera” would get a very low-key marketing and publicity.
Behl said: “Unfortunately, Vikramaditya couldn’t accompany us to Cannes because we need to get the post-production of ‘Lootera’ done on time. Regarding the publicity, it’s got to be really low-key.”
