Shimla: A day after clash among students of Himachal Pradesh University here left at least 12 people injured, the authorities today constituted a committee to probe the incident, an official said.
The committee, constituted by Vice Chancellor A.D.N. Bajpai and headed by dean of studies Suresh Kumar, started an inquiry into the incident of the group clash between Students Federation of India (SFI) and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the varsity said in a statement.
It said the committee would submit its report in three days to the vice chancellor.
The clash between the two outfits broke out Monday, which resulted to 12 getting injured.
University authorities subsequently dissolved the SFI-dominated Students Central Association, the elected body.
A university official said action would be initiated against the students involved in the clash on the basis of inquiry report.
President Pranab Mukherjee is visiting the university May 24 to confer degrees.
