Rio de Janeiro, April 27 (IANS) Brazil will meet Portugal in an international friendly at Boston’s Gillette Stadium Sep 9, the Brazilian football confederation (CBF) said.
It will be the South American outfit’s third fixture after the Confederations Cup, to be played in Brazil from June 15-30, reports Xinhua.
Luiz Felipe Scolari’s team will confront Switzerland in Basel Aug 14 followed by a yet-to-be-determined opponent Sep 6, the CBF said on its official website Friday.
Portugal and Brazil drew 0-0 when they last met during the group phase of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
The CBF also announced Brazil and Argentina would contest the two-legged Super Classic of the Americas trophy Sep 18 and Oct 1.
Brazil will play England at Rio’s revamped Maracana Stadium June 2, then France in Porto Alegre a week later before their Confederations Cup debut against Japan in Brasilia June 15.
